Learn On the Streets is an activities program that applies a learning-by-doing approach. Learning-by-doing refers to a theory of education expounded by American philosopher John Dewey. It’s a hands-on approach to learning, meaning students must interact with their environment in order to adapt and learn. Dewey implemented this idea by setting up the University of Chicago Laboratory School.
Therefore, we created the activities program “Learn On the Streets” for every level, in which the student participates in activities in such a way that they implement their Spanish, learn new vocabulary, expressions, and local jargon, while interacting with their environment and learning about the socio-cultural aspects of Madrid. These activities will be guided by a native person who is in charge of the organization and expert in teaching Spanish in activities of this type.
“Learn On the Streets” is a program of 5 activities per week:
- Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: from 19:00 to 20:40h.
- Thursdays: Language exchanges from 21:00h
We have more than 20 activities prepared, so no activity will be repeated in a time period of more than 6 weeks.
